Last weekend saw the inaugural edition of Nairobi's Africa Nouveau, a two-day festival of music, food, art and fashion at the Ngong Racecourse. "Africa Nouveau proved itself a pan-continental channel for the social and political aspirations of young people," wrote our on-the-ground correspondent Kampire Bahana. In addition to showcasing some of the most futuristic sounds on the Continent– including Fantasma, Boddhi Satva, DJ Satelite, Jojo Abot, Just A Band, Muthoni The Drummer Queen and Okayafrica's very own stage curated by DJ Cortega– the festival brought out some of the flyest looks in Nairobi.

Above, we take a look at the styles of Africa Nouveau from the lens of Kampala-based photographer Darlyne Komukama. Look out for a few familiar faces like Ghanaian songstress and stylist Jojo Abot and Papa Petit of the Kenyan brother-and-sister creative duo 2manysiblings.
