Asa Returns With 'Dead Again'

Nigerian singer/guitarist Asa returns from a three year hiatus with the video for her single "Dead Again," off the upcoming 'Bed of Stone.'

Asa Returns With 'Dead Again'

After a three-year break from the scene, Nigeria's Asa is back with a new single. Recently arrived, “Dead Again” showcases the sharp lyrics and genre-blending melodies that the Paris/Lagos singer/guitarist is known for. Strings, piano and a pulsating drumbeat accompany Asa's words as she speaks of the end of a toxic relationship. The video, which debuted yesterday in Nigeria, begins with Asa staring down the camera, her powerful stance contrasted against a black background with a ring of white light. As the song transitions between smooth and more rhythmic sections, Asa falls in and out of sync with dancers behind her. Their shared movements stress lyrics describing the wrongs suffered at the hands of a lover. “Dead Again” is the first single off Asa’s upcoming 4th album Bed of Stone. Check out the video below, choreographed by Marion Motin.
