SA Hip-Hop Laureate Tumi Heads To Nairobi For 'Hello Hello Kitty'

It's been a minute since we've heard from South African hip-hop laureate Tumi Molekane. Since departing Tumi & the Volume the conscious frontman has stayed busy honing poetics of his own. A first taste off the forthcoming solo effort ROBTHECHURCH comes from victory anthem "Hello Hello Kitty," whose weighty beatmaking comes courtesy of Sowetan producer Al The 3rd and Switzerland's Fred Hirsch. Tumi looked to Nairobi for a visually striking, thought-provoking visual accompaniment to his ode to heroic women. We're going full puzzle mode to crack Kenyan filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu's thematic weight. Watch "Hello Hello Kitty" below and stay tuned for more news on Tumi's third solo release via Motif Records.
