Kobi Onyame 'The Real part 2'

New African hip-hop from Ghanaian-born Glasgow-based Kobi Onyama.

Kobi Onyame 'The Real part 2'

Kobi Onyame is a Ghanaian-born, Glasgow-based producer and artist who first caught our attention with his 2011 self-released album Green Green Grasses. “The Real Part 2,” the lead single from Kobi’s upcoming release Greener Pastures, features production and scratch-duties from DJ Dummy (J.Cole and Common's DJ). Shout-outs to Nas, Jay-Z, and Kanye combine with Kobi's gritty 90s-like delivery to give this track a sentimental lens for a "realer" time in hip-hop. If this nostalgic flavor is any indicator, the rest of Kobi's new album will look to a hip-hop of yesterday as the site of a greener side. Ghanaian flag waving proud on the dashboard, "The Real part 2" has all the makings of an anthem with a message. Catch it below.
