The Lijadu Sisters were one of the few female acts to make it to the forefront of the 1970s Nigerian music scene. Twins Taiwo and Kehinde worked their way up the ranks, going from background singers to eventually playing with Ginger Baker (Cream, Africa 70) and being popular features in US/UK music programs.

1976's Danger, Lijadu Sisters' debut LP, is an Afrobeat gem featuring illustrious organ and guitar arrangements from Biddy Wright. The sisters address both social and political issues in their lyrics — the title track, for example, is as much about a dangerous lover as it is about the tumultuous climate in 1970s Nigeria.
