Audio: Hamza "Mali Dreams" - India X Africa Mash-up

The Indian musical hybrid Hamza, which has formerly explored the sounds of Brazil and Tibet, now introduces an itching curiosity for West African culture and sounds with the recent Wind Horse Records release, Mali Dreams.  The new album seamlessly marinates in a head-nodding, choppy bass overlayed with playful sonic sounds. Hamza's supreme mixture of Indian music with house has often inspired him to experiment with the sounds and cultures of other countries, which has help shape his own influences and artistic development. This album is the result of a Malian fantasy getaway that includes studio sessions with Hamza's favorite Malian artists. The dance floor thrill samples traditional Mali vocals and sounds, with hard kick drums, snappy percussion, bass tone and sunny delight stabs, all mixed with roots of Indian heritage. Vocal hits and grunts compliment the chopped rhythm on top of Hamza's melodic synth lines - his trademark.

Mali Dreams is out now via White Horse Records and digital retailers Beatport and at Traxsource, but you can indulge in the dance floor craze with a preview three-track stream below.
