Brooklyn: Keziah Jones and Sophia Urista at Weeksville, July 16

Keziah Jones and Sophia Urista will be putting on a free show (yes, FREE) this Saturday, July 16, 2011 at ‘A garden party’ at Weeksville in Brooklyn. Keziah is a Nigerian born rocker who's clearly been influenced by a wide range of music- from Fela Kuti to Jimi Hendrix.  Dude is nasty with his guitar, which he often flips onto his lap and slaps at, playing it somewhat like a slide guitar, with fluidity, rhythm, and awesome melodies.  His voice is the perfect blend of butter and light weight rasp as well.  Definitely a live show you don't wanna miss.

Deets:

1698 Bergen St. (bet. Buffalo Ave. + Rochester Ave.)

Doors open at 5pm
