Luvvie Ajayi's TEDWomen 2017 Talk Is the Motivation You Need Today

Luvvie Ajayi just read our lives in just 10 minutes with her new TED Talk.

The author and culture critic was the opening speaker for the TEDWomen 2017 conference in New Orleans in October, and it's now available for all to watch.

She starts out her talk telling the story of how she had to not allow fear to block her purpose of speaking truth to power. Encouraging us to do the same, Ajayi also shares three questions to ask yourself if you're debating whether to speak up or be silent and puts being comfortable on its head.

"But I realize comfort is overrated," she says during her talk. "Because being quiet is comfortable. Keeping things the way they've been is comfortable. And all comfort has done is maintain the status quo. So we've got to get comfortable with being uncomfortable by speaking these hard truths when they're necessary."
