Senegalese hip-hop group Gokh-Bi System pay tribute to fellow singer/griot/activist Ndongo Lo (featured on the track above), who passed away a few years ago, and to the slum they all grew up in, Pikine - hence the song title "Pikine." GBS's unique blend of traditional West African griot music with raw hip-hop make their sound all the more powerful to listen to.
