'Africa39' Short Story Anthology Book Launch In NYC


Next Tuesday, March 3rd, the Wales-based Hay Festival and African literature website Afridiaspora are presenting the New York City book launch of Africa39: New Writing from Africa South of the Sahara, an anthology of short stories by 39 writers under the age of 40 from sub-Saharan Africa and the Diaspora. The collection comprises work by such authors as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Dinaw Mengestu, and Taiye Selasie, and features a preface by Nobel Prize-winning playwright/poet Wole Soyinka. The book launch will be moderated by Afridiaspora.com founder and managing editor Nana-Ama Kyerematen, and will feature a reading/discussion by the anthology's editor Ellah Wakatama Allfrey and two writers featured in the collection, Nana Ekua Brew Hammond and Caine Prize winner Tope Folarin.
