Alsarah and the Nubatones Destroy this Tiny Desk Concert

Alsarah and the Nubatones Destroy this Tiny Desk Concert

Alsarah and the Nubatones are one of our favorite groups here at Okayafrica. Their blend of retro East African sounds, live instrumentations and cool attitude are unlike any other group out there. No surprise then that their appearance on NPR's Tiny Desk video series is one of the best in recent memory.

Check out the video below then read Alsarah's Ten Things I Love About Sudan—#10 is Nuba Wrestling—and hear Alsarah discuss identity and art as part of our roundtable of new school Sudanese artists alongside Sinkane, Oddissee and Mo Kheir.
