Fashion/Audio: Gold Coast Trading x CHLLNGR

Gold Coast Trading's SS12 clothing line is inspired by the harmattan in West Africa — "a dry and dusty West African trade wind [that] blows south from the Sahara into the Gulf of Guinea between the end of November and the middle of March." the wind picks up fine dust particles in its trajectory which blur the sky and distort the sun.

Like their previous collections, the new lines are accompanied by Popular Bass, 14:44-long mixes to mark the year [1444] that, in their words, "we were traded from the gold coast by Europeans x our own African brothers." For this "Winds From The North" collection they got CHLLNGR to produce a dark-dub mix to narrate the journey of the harmattan wind from dessert to city to sea. Stream/download CHLLNGR's mix and view some of Gold Coast Trading's SS12 collection below, head to their site for more.
