Beat Making Lab Ethiopia

Episode 1/6 of Beat Making Lab Ethiopia.

Beat Making Lab Ethiopia

The sharply shot Beat Making Lab series returns to the continent with a new city and fresh face in Addis Ababa. This time around BML collaborated with the IntraHealth global health organization in an effort to use "hip-hop as a medium to spread awareness about health issues." Episode one introduces viewers to 21 year-old aspiring producer Gelila, student of classic academics by day and beats by night. Judging by the few sound snippets in the clip, there's a good chance Gelila will be the next Ethiopian name on our radar. We'll have to wait until the series progresses to find out what results musically from the lab, though this first part does quite the job of guaranteeing a vested interest in our protagonist's success. New episodes of Beat Making Lab's 6-part Ethiopia series will roll out every Wednesday at Noon EST.
