Audio: Lewlewal de Podor 'Yiilo Jaam'

On the heels of the Music from Saharan Cell Phonesvinyl release, field recorder Chris Kirkley heads south west to a seemingly greener destination on the banks of the Senegal River for his latest release Yiilo Jaam by Lewlewal de Podor.  This 13-track collection of Northern Senegalese guitar music from the region of Fouta Toro is characterized by sleepy melodic lullabies and a handful of energized ballads which may feel a lot like sitting by the river on a sunny day.
